Running QuantumATK on a Virtual Machine

  • For 2019.12 and later versions,

when running QuantumATK in a Virtual Machine, 2D and 3D acceleration need to be turned on. If using VirtualBox, only versions 6 and up will work. It is recommended to use the VBoxSVGA graphics controller with 128MB of video memory.

The host machine needs to have a dedicated GPU (e.g. NVidia or AMD), and must be using the vendor drivers.

  • For all the old versions,

it is important to disable the 3D Acceleration (VirtualBox 4/5 is fine for older versions).
